🌿 Adopt a Patch – Final Big Push! 🌿
Next weekend we are holding the Dundalk Spring Clean (29th April to 1st May) in conjunction with An Taisce National Spring Clean.
We asked all of our Adopt a Patch volunteers to make a special effort to carry out a litter pick on their patch over the course of the weekend.
"This is our final big push as we prepare to welcome the adjudicators for Ireland's Best Kept Town competition in May! We greatly appreciate your support!"
If you needed any supplies, we got you sorted early in the week.
St. Patrick's Scout Group – Trojan Work!
St. Patrick's Scout Group 1st/2nd/5th Louth have been doing trojan work for Dundalk Spring Clean around the north end of town this week and will be out in different areas over the next few days!
A huge thanks to the scouts and leaders for making such a huge effort!
What they got up to:
-
Thursday: 5th Louth Scouts cleaning the Fairgreen
-
Friday: Cubs cleaning the River Walk
-
Friday: Beavers at the Castletown River Walk
-
Sunday: Leaders took to the Castletown River in canoes!
From the Scouts themselves:
"Almost every day over the past week our group has been out in our local community picking up bags and bags of rubbish. We've had our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Leaders on foot and even in canoes all around the streets and river close to our hall on the Castletown Road. This was an important exercise for our youth members as one of our mottos is 'Leave no trace'. Thanks to everyone that took part."
Dundalk Tidy Towns says: Fantastic work has been done by you all and we are very grateful! Over the week, every branch of the scouts was out in different parts of the town. 👏
