The Community Support team of Louth County Council and Dundalk Tidy Towns launched the vote with your butt campaign to raise awareness and encourage proper disposal of cigarette butts in Co Louth. Help keep Louth clean today!

05

Dundalk Tidy Towns launched a new visual identity for the Navvy Bank, designed by Pauraic Horgan (PH7 Design) and kindly funded by Louth County Council. The Victorian-inspired logo tells the story of the 'navvies' who hand-dug this 1.3-mile embankment in the 1840s, while positioning the Navvy Bank as a destination for walks, wildlife, photography and recreation.

Dundalk Tidy Towns was delighted to see Kev volunteer his time and artistic talent to create a beautiful new mural. Even Hassan took a break from litter picking to join in and give him a hand – a brilliant example of community spirit in action.

Great morning at Market Square with the Gum Litter Taskforce! We loved the ball toss game, great chats with Louth Disability Cycling & IWA.

Remember: Bin that gum! 🥎♻️

In July 2025, Dundalk Tidy Towns installed two new information panels on the Navvy Bank – one featuring photographs of the birds commonly seen in Dundalk Bay, and another sharing the history of the embankment and the 'navvies' who built it during the 1840s. Designed with help from Padraic at PH7 Design, these panels turn a scenic walk into an outdoor learning experience for locals and visitors alike.
