National Tree Week 2021
– Healthy Trees mean a Healthy Planet
In celebration of National Tree Week, we shared this exciting fact:
Since February 2020, Dundalk Tidy Towns has planted over 500 trees around the town!

21st March – A Great Morning's Work
National Tree Week 2021 took place on 21st March, and we had a fantastic morning planting the trees we received from Louth County Council. But we didn't stop at planting – we also got the area litter picked at the same time. Two jobs, one morning! 🌳🌲
A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers:
Victor, Kim, Pang, Ronan, Martin, Stephen, Claire, Larry and Helen – brilliant teamwork as always.
3rd April – More Trees at the Navvy Bank
The planting didn't stop with National Tree Week. On 3rd April, we had another great morning planting trees at the Navvy Bank as part of Míle Crainn Na hÉireann (Ireland's Thousand Trees). These trees were kindly donated to us by Senator Erin McGreehan, Louth.
This latest planting brought the total number of native trees planted in Dundalk in 2021 to 35 – and counting!

20th March 2022 - More forests for a greener future
For National Tree Week 2022, we decided to revisit all those trees by doing a walk around the town. It was wonderful to see how much they've grown – and a reminder that every tree we plant today is a gift to the future.
Planting is just the beginning. During the week, we also carried out follow-up care for those trees – checking stakes, removing litter, and making sure our young trees are healthy and thriving. We also used National Tree Week as an opportunity for education. Across our social media channels
